Eligibility for B.Tech (Lateral Entry)

Eligibility for B.Tech (Lateral Entry) (Three Years Duration Course)
Minimum Academic Qualifications for Admission to 2nd year (3rd Semester) of B.E./B.Tech. Courses
Eligibility: (*Subject to change as per guidelines/directions of AICTE and State Govt.).

Passed Minimum THREE years / TWO years (Lateral Entry) Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in ANY branch of Engineering and Technology

OR

Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.

OR

Passed B.Voc/3-year D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector / NCVT approved Diploma
(The Universities will offer suitable bridge courses such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering drawing, etc., for the students coming from diverse backgrounds to achieve desired learning outcomes of the programme).

For Kashmiri Migrants (KM) relaxation in cut-off percentage upto 10% subject to minimum eligibility requirement.

Note: As per AICTE, seats in lateral entry to B.Tech. Courses may be taken up to a maximum of 10% of sanctioned intake.

Basis of Admission Admissions in B.E./ B.Tech (Lateral Entry)-2026 shall be made on the basis of the inter-se-rank of OCET2026 to be conducted by HSTES.
